ABOUT US

Pakistan Kisan Ittehad

There is no precedent in the history of Pakistan for small farmers to show unity and achieve their demand. The first step was to subsidize agricultural tube wells. This issue was raised due to heavy taxes like sales tax, MDI fix charges, FPA on electricity bills. The farmers decided to stop paying the bill. It takes 1 year to resolve this issue, we have held many protests, sit-ins, long marches with millions of members.

The PPP government issued and issued a notification dated March 7, 2013. Pass the sit-in on March 1 in Okara. But the PPP did not implement the notification, they deceived the farmers. During the caretaker government, the NAB arrested two farmers for tube well bills. Rizwan Iqbal (District President Pakpattan) and M. Saleem Marrut from Bahawalnagar District. Kisan Ittehad started protesting and marched towards Islamabad, caravans were stopped in Patoki and a Punjab government team led by Najam Sethi CM Punjab reached Patoki for talks. He released the arrested members of Kisan Ittehad and promised to implement the notification during his next meeting with the CM. But then the government betrayed us.

For the third time, Kisan Ittehad announced protest on June 20, 2013. On June 18, 2013, the Punjab government requested for talks. A meeting was held at the CM Secretariat in which Rana Sanaullah, Law Minister Dr. Farrukh Javed, Agriculture Minister, Chaudhry Sher Ittehad Minister with a delegation of Energy Farmers Union.

On June 19, 2013, Mian Shahbaz Sharif CM met Ittehad Ittehad and promised to resolve the issue immediately. But it did nothing after 2 months, the coalition announced the long march again on August 26, 2013. Government talks with farmers and announced a subsidy package of Rs 29 billion. A press conference was organized by the government on September 4. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Water and Power Minister Abid Sher Ali and Punjab Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif held a press conference with Kisan Ittehad and announced the subsidy package.

But then they deceived the farmers and after 2 months nothing happened. Kisan Ittehad announced another protest on October 31 and issued a new directive and subsidized agricultural tube wells.

MAKING

Pakistan Kisan Ittehad

We had the worst experience of single leadership last year. Some of us try to cash in on this goal, but by the grace of God we have come out of these crises.

We developed an organizational structure. We regret single leadership. We now have a “Central Executive Committee” of good and sincere people. The CEC must enforce all laws and make decisions and make policies.

The organization is headed by the President but the President is subject to the decisions of the Central Executive Committee (CEC). The Secretary General will run the internal affairs of the organization. They will conduct matters with the consent of the Central Executive Committee (CEC). A member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) should be elected from all the districts. All district committees will elect their representatives to the CEC
